Not Just a Job
The Firefighter Way
Being part of Local 1329 isn’t just about punching the clock and answering calls — it’s about the way we live, the people we trust, and the community we’ve built around fire service.
There’s no manual for this life. You learn it by living it — one shift, one fire, one laugh at a time.
This job gets under your skin. It changes how you see the world, and how you look out for the person next to you.
We work in the kind of conditions most people never see, and we do it side by side, shift after shift. You don’t choose this life unless you’re ready to give a part of yourself to it — and get something real back.
This website is created by the friends, families, and community of Local 1329. It’s not the official site of Arlington Professional Fire Fighters — for that, you’ll want to check out Arlington Professional Fire Fighters. Instead, we’re here to offer a space where the real stories, memories, and experiences of our members can shine.
Arlington’s Own
Firefighters in the Community
We don’t just serve Arlington — we are Arlington. You’ll find us coaching youth sports, flipping pancakes at fundraisers, helping with local drives, or just grabbing coffee in the same spots you do.
We don’t just answer calls — we answer to the city we call home.
We believe in showing up before we’re needed — and sticking around after the fire’s out. Whether we’re reading books in a classroom or standing by at a town event, our presence means more than gear and sirens. It means trust.
Being part of Local 1329 means representing this place — on duty and off. That’s something we carry with pride, every shift, every season, every generation.

Job Never Stops
Getting Better Every Day
Firefighting isn’t a job you master once — it’s one you grow into, day by day, call by call. The tools change. The techniques evolve. The city gets bigger. But the mindset stays the same: be ready, stay sharp, and never let the job outrun you.
We train hard so the bad days don’t win.
At Local 1329, we believe training isn’t just a requirement — it’s part of who we are. From the first-day recruits sweating through drills to seasoned firefighters running live burn scenarios, we train like lives depend on it — because they do. Every hose pull, every roof cut, every room search is a rep toward staying alive and keeping others safe.
We also know strength isn’t just physical. Mental resilience, split-second decision-making, knowing when to lead and when to follow — that’s what makes the difference when things go sideways. And we put in the work to build those skills, over and over again.
