Azleway Toy Drive

It’s beginning to look (and feel) a lot like Christmas…
…and there are plenty of kids in need this year. Arlington Professional Firefighters is partnered with Azleway, as we have in years’ past, to provide Christmas presents to these children.
Christmas represents hope, love, peace and joy to most of the world. For the children of Azleway, Christmas can be a very hard time. Although most of the children of Azleway have been removed from homes full of abuse and neglect, Christmas is a time children miss home and family, no matter how destructive the environment may have been. Today you can make a difference in the life of a child. Every child listed in the Christmas Wish List attachment is in need of somebody to show them that hope, love, peace and joy still exist. We encourage each person/crew to choose presents from the list… and don’t forget about those ‘older’ kids. Items such as stocking stuffers, board games, bibles, sports balls, watches, wallets, cologne, batteries, small toys, etc. are always welcome and allow Azleway to give “extras.” Gift cards to major retail outlets are also appreciated and allow them to take care of children who come to Azleway at the last minute. So while you’re out there shopping for your loved ones, think about those who are a little less fortunate at Christmas time!
Christmas gift pick-up will be coordinated through Shawn Graham, and will be done on Monday, December 15th. I’ll make the rounds by each station, Administration, Dispatch, Resource, and Prevention that morning/afternoon. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email or call.

Important Facts About Your TMRS Retirement Benefit and Current Economic Problems
Whether you are a retiree or an active member, the TMRS benefit you have earned is secure. The current issues on Wall Street have no direct effect on your TMRS benefit.
